Signs your oven door seal needs replacing

A cavity gasket presses against the inside of the door when it closes, holding heat and steam in the oven. With age the material hardens, flattens or frays, and gaps open up. Fitting the cavity seal

Turn the oven off at the isolator and let it go completely cold. Pull the old seal out gently and note how it is held, whether by clips or pressed into a channel, and where the ends meet. Clean the groove of grease and old debris. Start the new seal at the same point as the old one, work around without stretching it, and close the door to check it seals evenly.
