Genuine Electrolux spark plug 85800490011682, also known as 0049001168, is the ignition electrode that sparks to light a gas burner. It has a 450mm lead and is made for piezo ignition systems, where pressing or turning the control creates the spark mechanically rather than through an electronic module. Compatible models aren't listed yet, so match the lead length and the number on your old spark plug before ordering.
Gas burner not lighting or sparking weakly
The spark plug sits beside the burner, its ceramic body holding an electrode a few millimetres from the burner cap. Each time the piezo fires, a spark jumps that gap and lights the gas. Cracked ceramic, a burnt or bent tip, or a lead that has chafed through will make the spark weak, send it somewhere else, or stop it altogether. Grease and boil-overs can also short the spark, so clean and dry the area first. If the plug is damaged or the burner still won't light, a replacement is the next step.

Replacing the spark plug
Turn off the gas at the appliance isolation valve or the supply, and switch off any power to the cooker. Spark plugs are reached from under the cooktop, and the lead must follow the original route, away from hot parts and sharp edges. Gas appliance repairs in Australia need to be done by a licensed gas fitter, who will also check the burner lights cleanly afterwards.
