The FWC3 is Fisher & Paykel's own replacement water filter cartridge, part number 847200. It suits a range of Fisher & Paykel fridges with plumbed water and ice, including RF610ADUX5, RF610ADJX5, RF605QDUVX1, RF730QNUVB1, E522BRXFDU5 and RS80AU1. F&P product codes such as 25528-A and 25303-B are also on the compatibility list, so you can match by either number on the compliance label.

When to change your Fisher & Paykel fridge water filter

Every drop that goes to the dispenser and ice maker passes through this cartridge first. As it works, it loads up with sediment and gradually loses its ability to improve taste and odour. A tired filter shows up as slow flow from the dispenser, smaller or hollow ice cubes, water that tastes or smells off, or a filter change reminder on the display. Your user manual gives the recommended change interval for your model, and areas with a lot of sediment in the water may need more frequent changes.

Changing the cartridge

Your user manual shows where the filter sits on your model. Keep a towel handy for the few drops that escape when the old cartridge comes out. Fit the new FWC3 firmly until it locks in place. Then run several litres through the dispenser to purge air and fine particles, and throw out the first tray or two of ice. Reset the filter reminder if your fridge has one.
