Years of heat, heavy roasting dishes and harsh oven cleaners can leave the wire bent, pitted or discoloured. A warped shelf rocks under a loaded tray and can tip food, and a damaged one may no longer slide smoothly or catch on its stops. Some owners simply want an extra shelf so they can bake on more levels at once.

Part details

Genuine Smeg oven shelf, part 844091603

Also referenced as 844092586

Wire rack design that sits in the oven side runners

Recorded as 46cm wide, measure your old shelf to confirm

Fitting and checking size

Before ordering, measure the width and depth of your current shelf and confirm the oven's model number on the rating label, which is usually visible on the frame when the door is open.
