836971 Genuine Medium Bin for Fisher & Paykel 900mm Fridges, F&P 900 Fridge Freezer Storage Bin Medium Size

This medium bin, part 836971, is a genuine Fisher & Paykel storage bin for F&P's 900 fridges, the 900mm wide range. The description doesn't say whether it belongs in the fresh food or freezer section, so the part number is the key check. Without a model list on file, look up the parts list for your fridge's model and serial number, or compare the old bin's number and shape.

Replacing a split or broken fridge bin

Bins keep food organised and contained, and they take a beating from heavy items, cold temperatures and daily pulling in and out. Cold makes many bins brittle, so cracks often start at the corners, handles or clips. A broken bin can drop its contents, jam against shelves or the door, or let spills run into the rest of the fridge. Replacing it with the same part number restores the fit, so it slots back exactly where it should.

Fitting the bin

Unload the old bin and lift or slide it out, watching for any clips holding it to a shelf or rail. Check the supports for damage too. Fit the new bin in the same place, make sure it sits level, then reload it. There's no wiring involved, so the fridge can stay running.

Questions about this part

Will a medium bin from another F&P fridge fit?

Not reliably. 836971 is listed for Fisher & Paykel's 900 size, and bins are shaped to suit each cabinet. Order by the part number on your parts list rather than by the size name alone.
