Kit 836728P is a genuine Fisher & Paykel crisper shelf assembly for 790mm bottom freezer fridges. In the box you get the glass shelf, the plastic humidity cover that works with it and two clips. It's the shelf that sits over the crisper bins, so the kit replaces both the glass and the cover in one go. If only the cover is damaged, the humidity control lid is also sold on its own as 836574.

Cracked crisper shelf or broken humidity cover

The lowest shelf in the fresh food section does two jobs. It holds food like any other shelf, and with its humidity cover it closes off the crisper bins below so produce stays fresh longer. A crack in the glass, a warped or split cover, or missing clips can leave gaps that let cold dry air dry out vegetables, or leave the cover loose so it rattles or drops into the bins. Replacing the full kit restores the seal and gives you new clips at the same time.

Fitting the shelf kit

Slide the crisper bins out first to give yourself room. Remove the old shelf and cover, noting where the clips sit and how the cover attaches. Assemble the new cover and clips in the same positions as the old ones, then slide the assembly onto its supports so it sits level. Refit the bins and make sure they move freely under the cover.
