Small but easy to lose, 836569 is the genuine Fisher & Paykel stiffener plug for the right hand side of a fridge shelf. It fits into the end of the shelf's stiffening section, finishing off that end of the shelf. This is the right hand version only, so check which side you need, and confirm with your fridge's model number and product code before ordering.
What the shelf stiffener plug does
Many fridge shelves have a stiffener along one edge to stop the shelf flexing under load. Plugs close off each end of that stiffener and give the shelf a neat finish where it meets the cabinet wall. When a plug cracks or falls out, the shelf can catch on the liner as you slide it, sit slightly off level, or show a sharp exposed end. They're often lost during cleaning when shelves come out. Fitting a new plug is a simple alternative to replacing the whole shelf.

Fitting the plug
Take the shelf out of the fridge and lay it on a towel on a flat surface. Clean out any broken pieces of the old plug from the end of the stiffener. Line the new plug up with the right hand end and press it in firmly until it sits flush. Refit the shelf and slide it in and out once to check it doesn't catch on the liner.

How do I tell left from right?
Stand facing the open fridge. The right hand plug goes on the end of the shelf nearest your right hand. If you need the left hand plug as well, it's a different part, so check your fridge's model number and product code when ordering.
