In a frost free fridge freezer, a fan moves cold air from the evaporator into the compartments. If it stops, the compressor may keep running and the evaporator may still frost up, but the cold doesn't get where it's needed. Connecting the new fan
Unplug the fridge at the wall before removing any panels. Defrost any ice around the fan housing first, since ice can jam or damage a blade. The 3M IDC connectors let you join the new fan's leads to the existing harness, so cut and join one wire at a time to keep the polarity right. If you're not comfortable working with the wiring, have a qualified technician fit it.
