Fisher & Paykel lists separate covers depending on which evaporator a fridge has, so the Showa match matters. The foam that goes with this cover is a separate part, 883286, so order it as well if the old foam is torn, squashed or stuck to the old cover.
Why the evaporator cover matters
The evaporator is the cold coil that chills the air in a frost-free fridge, and the inner cover sits over it to direct airflow and keep the coil out of the storage space. Foam around the cover seals the air path so cold air goes where it should and warm, moist air can't leak in. A cracked, warped or badly fitting cover lets air bypass the coil, which leads to heavy frost on the evaporator, uneven temperatures, ice on the back wall, or a fan that rattles against the cover.

Fitting the cover
Unplug the fridge and move food out of the affected section. Remove shelves and any screws holding the cover, then ease it off, watching for wiring to the fan or sensors. If the evaporator is iced up, let it thaw fully and dry the area. Fit new foam 883286 where the old foam sat, then refit the cover so it seals evenly.
