Product details

This is the genuine freezer door gasket, part 8119885401, for Electrolux group fridges built on the TF70 platform, used for Westinghouse, Electrolux and Kelvinator badged models. It also appears under the shorter number 811988540. The gasket fits the freezer door only, not the fridge door. Check your model and product number with us if you are unsure your fridge is a TF70.

Signs your freezer door seal has failed

A freezer door gasket uses a magnetic strip and a soft, flexible bellows to seal the door against the cabinet. When the seal splits, flattens or pulls away at the corners, warm moist air leaks in. You'll notice frost or ice building up around the door edge and on the food, the freezer running longer and louder than usual, condensation on the outside of the cabinet, and over time higher power bills. A simple test is to close the door on a sheet of paper. If it slides out easily, the seal isn't gripping.

Fitting a new freezer gasket

Turn the fridge off at the wall first. New gaskets are often creased from packing, so warm the folds gently with a hair dryer on a low setting to help them relax. Fit the gasket the same way the old one came off, whether it pushes into a channel or sits under a retainer, starting at the corners. Leave the door closed for a few hours before judging the seal.

Questions about this part

How do I know if my fridge is a TF70?

TF70 is an Electrolux group platform code rather than a model number. Send us the model and product number from the rating label inside the fridge compartment and we will confirm whether this freezer gasket fits.
