Product details

This genuine Electrolux freezer fan, part 8119754078, is a low voltage 12V DC fan assembly rated at 2.7W and 2700rpm. It's listed for Westinghouse, Electrolux and Kelvinator fridges, including the WBE4500SA, WBE5300SA, WHE6000SA, WHE6060SA, EBE5300SA and KBM5302WA. If the freezer is cold but the fridge section keeps warming up, a failed 8119754078 fan is a likely cause.

Fridge warm but freezer cold? Check the freezer fan

In a frost free fridge, the freezer fan pulls air across the evaporator coil and pushes it through the freezer, with some routed into the fridge compartment. When the fan stops, the cold stays trapped around the coil. The freezer may still freeze, but the fridge section warms up, food spoils faster, and frost can build on the back panel. A worn fan can also squeal, buzz or tick while it runs. If the fan blade is frozen solid in ice, the real problem may be a defrost fault rather than the motor itself.

Replacing the freezer fan

Switch the fridge off at the wall and move frozen food to an esky or another freezer. Remove the evaporator cover inside the freezer to reach the fan. If there's ice around the fan, let it thaw fully before working. Photograph the wiring plug and how the fan sits in its mount, fit the new one the same way, and check the blade spins freely before refitting the cover.

Questions about this part

My model ends in -L or -R, will this fan still fit?

Yes. The -L and -R endings show which side the door hinges on, and the fan is listed for both versions of models like the WBE5300SA and EBE4500SA. Check the base model on the label inside your fridge.
