This OEM selector switch replaces Smeg part 811730227, the switch behind the function knob that decides which elements, fan and light run. It's on file for 95 Smeg models, among them the SA9066XS, SNL91MFX5, SCB91MFX5 and SCD91MFX5. As an aftermarket part made to the original specification, it's a like for like swap for the 811730227.
How a faulty Smeg oven selector switch shows up
The selector switch is a multi position rotary switch. Each position closes a different set of contacts, sending power to the right mix of elements, fan motor and lamp for that function. Contacts wear and burn with use, and heat from the oven speeds that up. Typical signs are one function that's stopped while others still go, the oven heating on the wrong element, the light or fan staying off, a knob that feels loose or gritty, and scorch marks on the switch terminals.

Changing a selector switch
Isolate the oven at the switchboard or isolator before removing the control panel. Photograph the switch from several angles so every wire goes back on the right terminal, or move the wires across one at a time. Check the spindle shape and mounting match before fitting. Fixed wiring work on a hard-wired oven should be done by a licensed electrician.
