The blade turns with the motor and pushes air through the appliance, carrying heat away from components or moving cooled air where it is needed. Blades crack, lose a fin, warp from heat or come loose on the shaft. Swapping the fan blade
Switch the appliance off at the wall before removing any covers, and keep fingers clear of the blade until the power is isolated. Note which way the blade faces and how it is held on, whether by a clip, nut or push fit, then remove it. Fit the new blade the same way round and push it fully home. Spin it by hand to check it clears the housing before restoring power.
