Fisher & Paykel rangehood sticking or not sliding straight?
Grease from cooking settles on the runners over time, and pulling on one side of the moving section puts a twisting load on each guide. Eventually a guide can bend, lose its smooth action or break at a mounting point. The section then drags, jams half open, sits lopsided, or drops when it should hold its place. Replacing the guide
Switch the rangehood off at the wall or isolate the circuit, and remove the grease filters. Support the moving section while you undo the guide screws so it does not fall. Note which way the guide faces and where any stops or clips sit, fit the new guide the same way, and check the section slides smoothly from fully closed to fully open before refitting the filters.
