Rangehood fan humming or running slow?

Replacing the capacitor safely

Isolate the rangehood at the power point or switchboard, then wait a few minutes before touching the capacitor, as it can hold a charge. Discharge it safely before handling. Photograph the wiring, note the mounting position, and connect the new capacitor to the same terminals. A rangehood that is hard-wired needs a licensed electrician for this job.
