Product details
A torn or mouldy door boot is one of the main causes of front loader leaks. 772661 is a genuine BSH boot gasket, the flexible door seal for Bosch and Siemens front load washing machines, also listed as 00772661. Boots vary in drum size, drain holes and fixing rings, so match any number moulded on your old seal, or check your E-Nr, before you order.
Washing machine leaking from the door
The boot gasket is the folded seal that joins the front of the cabinet to the tub, so water stays inside while the drum spins. It flexes thousands of times and is constantly exposed to detergent, hot water and anything left in pockets. Tears, holes and perished folds let water drip from the bottom of the door, usually during the wash or spin. Black mould that won't scrub off and a musty smell are other reasons people replace it. Coins, underwire and hair clips are common culprits for cuts.

Replacing a front loader boot
Switch the washer off at the wall and turn off the taps. Remove the outer clamp ring at the front, then usually the front panel to get to the inner clamp on the tub. Look for alignment marks on the boot and tub so the drain holes end up at the bottom. Seat the new boot evenly all the way round, refit both clamps and run a rinse cycle to check for leaks.
Questions about this part
Can I patch a small tear in the door boot?
Patches rarely last because the boot flexes and is wet constantly. A replacement is the reliable fix, and it also clears out any mould trapped in the old folds.
