Product details

Genuine BSH heat exchanger 770952, also known as 00770952, is fitted to the side wall of Bosch, Siemens and Neff dishwashers. It's a moulded water tank and channel system that helps with drying and with warming the incoming water. No model list is on file for this one, and heat exchangers vary between tub sizes and versions, so please confirm the part number or send us the E-Nr and FD before ordering.

Leaks and fill problems from a dishwasher heat exchanger

On many BSH dishwashers, cold water is held in the heat exchanger against the tub wall. During drying it cools the wall so steam condenses and runs down, and at other stages it lets water warm up before it enters the tub. Water from the inlet valve also travels through channels in the moulding on many models. Cracks, scale build-up or a failed internal valve can cause water leaking into the base, an anti-flood error, overfilling or poor drying. Leaks usually show up first as water in the base tray.

Replacing a dishwasher heat exchanger

Unplug the dishwasher, shut off the tap and disconnect the inlet and drain hoses. The machine usually has to come out of its cavity and have a side panel removed. Photograph every hose, valve and wire before you release anything, and keep towels handy for trapped water. Refit with new clamps where needed and run a full cycle while checking the base for leaks.

Questions about this part

Why is there water in the base of my dishwasher?

Water in the base tray can come from a leaking heat exchanger, a cracked hose, a failed pump seal or the door seal. Dry the tray, then watch for the first drip with a torch so you know which part to replace before ordering.
