Cutting and connecting the tube

Turn the water off first. Cut the tube square with a sharp tube cutter or blade, never with side cutters that pinch the end. Push it firmly into the fitting until it passes the collet and bottoms out, then pull back gently to confirm it holds. Fit a locking clip behind the collet and route the line so it can't kink when the fridge goes back into place.
