Bosch dishwasher not releasing the tablet? Check the dispenser
The dispenser sits in the inner door panel. A small latch holds the lid shut until the program reaches the main wash, then the control triggers the dispenser and the spring-loaded lid flips open so the detergent drops into the water. When the latch wears, the spring weakens or the actuator inside stops responding, the tablet is often found still sitting in the cup at the end of the cycle, or half dissolved and stuck to the door. Some faults go the other way, with a lid that will not latch shut at all. Dishes coming out dirty with a film of undissolved powder is the usual first sign.

Swapping the Bosch dispenser
Turn the dishwasher off at the wall before you start. The dispenser is reached by removing the screws around the inner door edge and separating the inner and outer door panels. Snap a photo of the wiring plug before unclipping it, then release the old dispenser from its retaining clips and press the new one into place. Reassemble the door, run a short program and check the lid pops open partway through.
