Bosch oven door seal hard, torn or leaking heat?
This seal runs around the front of the oven cavity and presses against the inner door glass when the door closes. It keeps heat, steam and cooking smells inside the oven so it reaches temperature quickly and holds it. Age and heat make the seal brittle and flat, and its fixing hooks can break or pull out of the frame. When that happens you'll notice heat or steam escaping from the door edges, longer preheating and cooking times, condensation dripping onto the control panel or front, and an oven front that gets hotter than usual.

Fitting the oven door seal
Make sure the oven is switched off and cold. Opening the door fully, or removing it, makes the job easier. Unhook the old seal at each fixing point, starting from a corner. Push the new seal's hooks into the same holes around the cavity, beginning at the top corners and working evenly so the seal isn't stretched. Close the door and check it seals all the way around.
