Bosch oven door seal worn? Signs heat is escaping
A door seal holds the heat inside the oven and keeps hot air away from the controls and the cabinetry around a built-in unit. With age the seal material hardens, frays, flattens or tears, and the clips that hold it can snap. Common clues are steam or smoke puffing out around the door, the outside of the door or the knobs getting hotter than usual, longer preheat times and uneven baking. You may also spot grease staining on the front frame where hot air has been leaking out.

Fitting the oven seal
Make sure the oven is off and completely cold. Opening the door wide, or taking it off if your model allows, makes the job easier. Start at the top centre and ease the old seal's clips out of the holes around the cavity, noting where the join sits. Push the new seal's clips in one at a time, keeping the seal even and the corners neat, then close the door and check it shuts without force.
