Signs your De'Longhi brew unit is worn out
Every coffee passes through the infuser. It takes the freshly ground dose, presses it into a firm puck, lets hot water push through, then drops the spent puck into the grounds container. Worn seals and moving parts show up as watery or weak coffee, wet sloppy pucks, coffee or water ending up in the drip tray instead of the cup, or grinding noises as the unit moves. A cracked frame or broken lever can stop the unit locking in, and the machine may refuse to brew or flag a brew unit fault.

Fitting and caring for the new infuser
Turn the machine off and unplug it, then open the service door and remove the old unit using its release buttons. Before fitting the new one, check the drive and coffee chute inside are clean and free of old grounds. It should slide in without force and click into place. Rinse it regularly under warm water and lubricate it as your user manual describes.
