Bosch front loader leaking from the door?

The door seal, sometimes called the boot or bellows, forms a watertight ring between the cabinet front, the tub and the closed door. Over the years it can split in the folds, get torn by coins or bra wires, or grow black mould that won't scrub off. A damaged seal usually shows up as water on the floor in front of the machine, often during spin or when the drum is full, plus a musty smell that keeps returning. A tear low down inside the fold is the most common culprit.

Replacing a Bosch door boot

Unplug the machine and turn off both taps. Remove the outer clamp ring from the front lip of the seal, fold the seal back and release the inner clamp where it grips the tub. Note how the old seal is orientated, since boots have locating marks and drain holes that must sit in the right place. Refit both clamps evenly, then run a rinse and check for drips.
