Product details
This is genuine Smeg cooling fan 695210535, the fan that keeps the electronics, controls and outer surfaces of a Smeg oven at a safe temperature. It runs while the oven is hot and often keeps going for a while after you switch off, which is normal. There's no model list on file for this number, so match it to the label on your old fan or the parts list for your oven before you buy.
Smeg oven cooling fan noisy or not working
The cooling fan draws air across the top of the oven and pushes it out, usually through a vent above the door, carrying heat away from the switches, wiring and electronic controls. When it fails, that heat builds up. Typical signs are knobs or the fascia getting too hot to touch, a clock or display that plays up during cooking, the oven cutting out mid cook as a safety thermostat trips, or a loud grinding or rattling from behind the control panel. A seized fan is common after years of heat, and a worn bearing usually gets noisier before it stops.

Replacing the cooling fan
Switch the oven off at the isolator and let it cool completely. The cooling fan usually sits on top of the oven cavity, so a built-in oven normally has to be slid out of its cabinet to reach it. Photograph the wiring and how the fan is fixed before removing it. A hard wired oven must be disconnected and reconnected by a licensed electrician.
Questions about this part
My oven fan keeps running after I turn the oven off. Is it faulty?
Probably not. Cooling fans are designed to keep running until the oven has cooled to a safe temperature. It becomes a concern if the fan never stops, makes a grinding noise, or the oven panel gets very hot while cooking.
