Fitting the new knob
Turn the appliance off, and for gas appliances make sure every burner is off. Pull the old knob straight off its shaft without levering against the panel, which can mark it. Line up the flat on the shaft with the shape inside the new knob and push it on firmly. Turn it through its full range to check it moves the control properly and the markings line up.
