Fridge light not working? Check the globe first
The globe sits behind a cover in the fresh food section and is switched by a door switch, so it comes on as the door opens. A blown globe is the most common reason the light stops, and it's an easy fix. If a new globe still doesn't light, the door switch, socket or wiring may be at fault. A globe that stays on with the door shut can warm the cabinet, so if the light seems to run all the time, test the switch as well.

Changing the fridge globe
Switch the fridge off at the wall first, and let the old globe cool if it has been on. Remove the light cover, usually by squeezing or sliding it, then unscrew the globe anticlockwise. Screw the new one in firmly without forcing it, refit the cover and switch back on. Don't fit a globe of higher wattage than 40W.
