Upper basket sagging on one side or refusing to click into position? 690074913 is an OEM basket adjuster kit made to suit Smeg dishwashers, linked to the Smeg numbers 698290726 and 698290727. It's an aftermarket part built to the original specification. Eleven Smeg models are on file, among them the DWA6314X, the DWA157B, the DWAI214X and the DWAU149X.
How the upper basket adjuster works
The adjusters clip to the sides of the upper basket and let you raise or lower it to fit tall plates underneath or long-stemmed glasses on top. Each side has a mechanism that locks the basket at the chosen height. With daily use and the heat of the wash, the plastic latches wear, crack or lose their grip, and the basket drops on one side, won't lock at either height or comes off its runners. A tilted basket can also get in the way of the spray arm, leaving dishes dirty.

Fitting the adjuster kit
Pull the upper basket all the way out and lift it off its runners, releasing the end stops on each rail. Take a photo of how the old adjusters attach before unclipping them. Fit the new kit to both sides, check the basket moves up and down and locks firmly at each height, then refit it and make sure it rolls freely without catching the spray arm.
