Signs your oven door seal has failed
The door seal is the gasket fitted around the front of the oven cavity. It closes the gap between the cavity and the door so heat and moisture stay inside. When it hardens, flattens, tears or pulls away at the corners, hot air leaks out. You might notice longer cooking times, uneven baking, condensation or grease marks on the control panel, or the outside of the door getting hotter than usual. This seal clips into holes around the cavity using 8 hooks.

Fitting an oven door seal
Make sure the oven is off and cold. Many BSH doors can be lifted off their hinges, which makes the seal much easier to reach. Unhook the old seal and clean the groove. Start the new seal at the same point where the old one was joined, push each hook firmly into its hole, and work around the corners without stretching it.
