LG washer won't start or door stuck shut? Test the door lock
Before a front loader fills, the control powers this switch to lock the door and confirm it is shut. Only once the lock reports closed does the wash begin, and at the end of the cycle it releases after the drum has stopped. When it fails you may find the machine beeps and refuses to start, the door lock light flashes, a door error appears on the display, or the cycle finishes and the door stays locked long after the drum has come to rest.

Changing the door lock
Unplug the washer and make sure the drum is empty. On most LG front loaders you release the clamp on the outer lip of the door boot, fold the boot inward, then remove the screws holding the lock to the front panel. Unplug the 3 pin connector, fit the new lock and refit the boot clamp so the seal does not leak. Run a short rinse to check it locks and releases.
