Bosch washer door won't lock or won't open?
Before a front loader will fill, the door lock has to latch the door and confirm to the control board that it is safely shut. It then holds the door closed until the drum has stopped and the water level is safe. When the lock fails, the machine may refuse to start, flash the door symbol, stop shortly after starting, or keep the door locked long after the program ends. A cracked latch hook on the door itself can cause similar faults, so check that too. Many Bosch machines have an emergency release behind the filter flap, so read the manual before forcing a stuck door.

Changing the door lock
Unplug the washer and make sure the drum is empty with no water left inside. Open the door and peel back the outer edge of the door seal by removing its clamp ring, then undo the screws holding the lock to the front panel. Reach behind to unplug the 3 pin connector, fit the new lock, refit the clamp and seal, and run a rinse and spin to confirm it locks and releases.
