Dishwasher pump running non-stop or showing a leak error?
When water leaks into the base pan of a dishwasher, a float rises and operates the switch. The control then stops filling, usually runs the drain pump to empty the tub, and on most models shows a water protection error. A switch that has stuck or failed can cause the same response with no leak present, or fail to react to a real one. Always look for the actual leak first, and dry the base pan fully, before deciding the switch is at fault. Common leak sources are hoses, seals and the pump.

Fitting the float switch
Turn the dishwasher off at the wall, close the tap and pull the machine out of its cavity. The float switch is usually reached from underneath once the base cover or kickplate is removed. Unplug the wires, unclip the old switch and fit the new one so it sits square and the float moves freely. Dry the base pan before testing, then run a short cycle and check for leaks.

Not straight away. Dry the base pan and find the leak first. If the error comes back with a dry base, the float switch may have failed, and 622035 could be the replacement if it's on your model's parts list.
