Product details

Genuine BSH dual water valve 621159 (also 00621159) controls the water supply in Bosch, Siemens and Neff appliances that list this number. A dual valve has two separately switched outlets, letting the appliance send water to two places, such as different detergent compartments in a washer or a water dispenser and ice maker in a fridge. Our record doesn't say which appliance this one suits, so match it by number before ordering.

Appliance not filling or water still running when off?

Each side of a dual water valve has its own solenoid coil. When the control energises a coil, the magnetic field lifts a plunger and water flows through that outlet. Faults show up as one function getting no water, slow filling, a hum without flow, or water that keeps trickling in after the appliance stops. Calcium and grit in the supply are common causes, so check the small filter screen at the valve inlet before replacing the whole valve. Each coil can be tested for resistance with a multimeter.

Replacing the water valve

Turn off the water supply and disconnect the appliance from power before starting. Have a towel and tray handy, as hoses will hold some water. Photograph the wiring and outlet hoses so each goes back to the same solenoid. Swap the valve over, tighten the connections without overdoing it, then turn on the water and check for leaks before restoring power.

Questions about this part

Why does the valve have two outlets?

A dual valve feeds two water paths from one supply, each switched by its own coil. That's why the hoses and wires must go back in the same positions as on the old valve, or water will go to the wrong place.
