Product details
Tank is another name for the tub in a washing machine, and 615946 is a genuine BSH tank spring, also written 00615946. Springs like this hang the tub from the top of the cabinet in Bosch and Siemens front loaders. Spring lengths and strengths change between models, so check the number against your machine's parts list before ordering.
Washing machine tub sagging or banging?
The suspension springs carry the weight of the tub, drum, motor and water, and pull it back to centre after every movement. They work as a team with the dampers underneath. If a spring stretches, breaks or comes off its hook, the tub drops on one side, the drum can rub the door seal and the machine bangs hard on spin. Have a look inside with the top panel off. A loose spring hanging free, or a tub sitting lower on one side, are clear signs.

Fitting a tub spring
Unplug the machine and take off the top panel. Springs are under tension, so wear gloves and eye protection. Hook the new spring into the cabinet mount first, then lift the tub slightly to take the load and hook the lower end into the tub lug. Check it sits the same way as the spring on the other side.
Questions about this part
Should I replace both springs together?
If one spring has failed and the other is the same age, replacing both helps the tub hang evenly. Your parts list shows how many springs your model uses and whether they all share the 615946 number.
