Product details

Genuine BSH spark plug 613118, also written 00613118, is an ignition electrode with an 810mm lead for Bosch, Siemens and Neff gas cooktops. It's listed for the rapid, semi-rapid and auxiliary burners. The long lead runs from the burner back to the ignition box under the cooktop, and the electrode end sits beside the burner where the spark lights the gas.

Gas burner clicking but not lighting?

The spark plug is the ceramic insulated electrode next to the burner. When you turn the knob, the ignition box sends high voltage down the lead and a spark jumps from the electrode tip to the burner, lighting the gas. If the ceramic cracks, the tip burns away or the lead's insulation breaks down, the spark tracks to earth somewhere else. You'll hear clicking but see no spark at the burner, or a weak spark that only lights the gas sometimes. Grease and spills on the electrode cause the same symptoms, so clean it first.

Replacing the spark electrode

Turn off the gas at the appliance isolation valve and isolate the power before lifting the cooktop. A licensed gas fitter should carry out the work, as the burner area must be resealed and checked for leaks. Route the new lead along the same path as the old one, away from hot surfaces, and clip it in place. Plug it into the same outlet on the ignition box.

Questions about this part

Will this electrode suit my wok burner?

613118 is listed for rapid, semi-rapid and auxiliary burners. If you need one for the wok burner, check the parts list for your E-Nr, found on the label under the cooktop, as that burner may take a different electrode.
