Bosch washer won't start or the door stays locked shut?
The interlock sits in the cabinet front beside the door opening, where the hook on the door engages it. Before a wash begins, the control board energises the interlock, which latches the hook and signals back that the door is shut and secure. It then holds the door closed until the drum has stopped and the water level is safe. When it fails, the machine may refuse to start, stop part way through a program, show a door fault or keep the door locked at the end of the cycle. A broken door hook can cause similar symptoms, so check the hook on the door as well.

Replacing the door interlock
Switch off at the wall and unplug the washer, and make sure no water is sitting in the drum. On most front loaders you reach the interlock by removing the retaining wire around the front of the door boot and folding the boot back, then taking out the screws beside the hook opening. Photograph the plug before unclipping it, fit the new interlock, refit the boot evenly and run a rinse program to test.
