Side oven light not working
Many larger ovens light the cavity from the side walls so every shelf can be seen. A lamp assembly generally combines the holder for the G9 globe with the housing that seals it from the oven. A dark side light usually means a blown globe, but a cracked lens, scorched holder or heat-damaged lead can also stop it working, and a loose lens can drop into food. If the globe is fine and the fitting is damaged, replacing the assembly is the fix.

Changing the side lamp
Switch the oven off at the isolating switch and let the cavity cool. Remove the shelves and side racks for access. Release the old lens or assembly carefully, as it may be tight after years of heat. Hold any G9 globe with a cloth rather than bare fingers, fit the new assembly, and test the light before refitting the racks.
