Product details

Fisher & Paykel part 575722 is a genuine ignition electrode for the triple ring (TR) burner, with a 350mm length. It's the spark plug that lights that burner when you press and turn the knob. Electrodes for the same burner come in different lengths, so measure the old one and check its number. No model list is on file, so send your model through the parts enquiry form if you'd like a second check.

Burner clicking but not lighting

An ignition electrode turns the high voltage pulse from the spark module into a spark at the burner. Its ceramic body insulates the lead so the spark only jumps at the tip. If the ceramic cracks, the tip is bent too far from the burner, or the lead is damaged by heat, the spark weakens, tracks to earth somewhere else, or stops altogether. Moisture from a boil-over can cause the same symptoms for a while, so dry the burner area first and replace the electrode if the fault stays.

Replacing the electrode

Turn off the gas and power before you start, and have a licensed gas fitter do the work. Take a photo of the lead's route to the spark module and copy it with the new electrode, keeping the lead clear of burner tubes and sharp edges. Set the tip at the same gap as the original, then test the burner several times.

Questions about this part

My old electrode is a different length. Does that matter?

Yes. The lead has to reach the spark module along its original route. Too short won't connect, and too long leaves slack that can sit against hot parts. Match the 350mm length or check with us first.
