Triple ring burner not sparking or slow to light
The igniter is an insulated electrode that sits beside the burner. When you push and turn the knob, the spark module sends a high voltage pulse down the lead and a spark jumps from the tip to the burner. Cracked ceramic, a lead that has been pinched or burnt, or a tip covered in spilt food or cleaner means weak or no spark at that burner. You may hear clicking with no flame, see the spark jumping to the wrong spot, or need a match to light it.

Fitting the igniter
Unplug the appliance or switch it off at the wall, and turn off the gas supply. A licensed gas fitter should carry out the work. Lift off the burner parts and the top to reach the igniter, note how the lead is routed away from hot parts, and clip the new one into the same position. Test that each burner lights cleanly.

Can I clean the igniter instead of replacing it?
If the ceramic and lead are undamaged, cleaning the tip with a dry toothbrush and drying the burner area often brings the spark back. Replace the igniter if the ceramic is cracked or the lead is damaged.
