Fan oven not heating? Signs the element has failed
On fan bake and other fan forced functions, the element warms the air that the fan blows around the cavity, giving even heat on every shelf. When it fails, the fan still spins and the light still comes on, but the oven stays cold or barely warms on those settings, while top and bottom heat may still work. Some elements fail with a bang and trip the safety switch. Others go open circuit quietly. Replacing the fan element
Kill the power at the switchboard or oven isolator first, then remove the shelves and the rear fan cover. A hard-wired oven needs a licensed electrician or qualified appliance technician for this job. Run the oven on fan forced to confirm it heats.
