Fisher & Paykel oven door seal worn or falling out?
The door seal is the gasket around the oven opening that the door closes onto. It keeps heat and moisture inside the 53 litre cavity, which helps the oven heat quickly, hold its temperature and cook evenly. Constant heat makes the seal brittle, and over time it can flatten, tear, lose its hooks or sag away from the frame. You may notice heat escaping at the top of the door, hot or discoloured knobs and fascia, condensation running down the front, longer cooking times or browning that is heavier on one side.

Fitting the oven seal
Turn the oven off at the isolating switch and let it cool completely. Before removing the old seal, photograph where its ends and any break sit and count the hooks, so the new seal goes in the same way. Push each hook firmly into its hole in the oven frame, working around the corners without stretching the seal. Close the door and check it seals evenly all round.
