Fisher & Paykel's 574202P is a cooling fan for its ovens, a tangential fan that moves air through the oven's outer casing. It's cross referenced to fan number 079017, and part A02128001 can be used in its place. This is the genuine F&P part. Check the number on your old fan or confirm your oven model before ordering, as F&P ovens don't all share one cooling fan.
Oven cooling fan noisy or not running
The cooling fan is separate from the fan that circulates heat inside the oven. It runs while the oven is hot and often keeps going after you turn it off, pushing cool air past the controls, wiring and door before venting it out the front. When its bearings wear it can rattle, hum or squeal. If it stops altogether, the knobs, control panel and surrounding cabinetry can get much hotter than normal, and the oven may cut out on its overheat protection. A fan that runs on for a while after cooking is normal, but one that never stops can point to a control fault.

Replacing the cooling fan
Isolate power to the oven at the switchboard or isolator and let it cool fully. The cooling fan is usually reached by sliding the oven out of its cabinet and removing the top cover. Photograph the wiring and the fan's position before removal. Because built-in ovens are generally hard-wired, have a licensed electrician carry out the replacement.
