Product details

Part 573678P is a genuine Fisher & Paykel fan motor for F&P ovens and cookers. Fisher & Paykel lists it simply as a fan motor, and ovens can have two kinds: a convection fan inside the cavity and a cooling fan that pushes air over the controls and door. Since the position isn't recorded, the surest check is to match 573678P with the number on the motor you're replacing.

Two oven fans, two sets of symptoms

A failing convection fan motor shows up in the food first. Fan forced cooking turns patchy, preheating drags on, and you may hear grinding or squealing from behind the rear cover. A failing cooling fan is quieter but just as important. Without it, the control panel and door get much hotter than normal, the oven may switch off mid-cook to protect itself, and heat can damage the electronics over time. In both cases worn bearings are a common cause, and a motor that hums without spinning has usually reached the end of its life.

Replacing the fan motor

Turn the oven off at the switchboard and let it cool right down. Work out which fan you're replacing before you start, as the convection motor is reached from the back of the oven and the cooling fan usually sits above the cavity under the top panel. Photograph the wiring and mounting screws. On a hard-wired oven, leave the reconnection to a licensed electrician.

Questions about this part

How do I tell which fan motor I need?

Remove the motor you suspect and read the number on its label or body. If it reads 573678P, this is the part. If you can't get to it yet, send your oven's model and serial numbers through the parts enquiry form and we'll check which fan motor it uses.
