Signs your Fisher & Paykel oven door seal needs replacing
When the door shuts, the seal is squashed between the door and the front of the cavity, trapping hot air inside. Over time the gasket hardens, flattens, tears or pulls away from its fixings. You may notice heat or steam escaping, grease marks or scorching on the control panel and cabinetry, food that takes longer to cook or browns unevenly, and an oven that uses more power to hold its temperature. Changing the door seal
Make sure the oven is off and completely cold. Seals of this type are usually anchored by hooks pressed into small holes around the opening, so note where the join sits and how the corners are formed before pulling the old one out. Start the new seal at the top centre, work around evenly without stretching it, and press each hook in firmly. Keep the door shut during a short warm-up run to help it settle.
