Replacing a cracked or lost milk carafe on a De'Longhi machine
On LatteCrema models the milk carafe is what turns a bean-to-cup machine into a one-touch cappuccino maker. The machine draws milk from the jug, heats and froths it, then pours it into the cup. A cracked jug, a lid that no longer seals or a carafe that will not lock in properly can lead to leaking milk, weak or patchy froth, spitting from the spout, or the machine refusing to make a milk drink. Some owners also keep a spare carafe so one can sit in the fridge while the other is being washed.

Using and cleaning the new carafe
Wash the carafe before first use, following the cleaning steps in your machine's manual. Fill it with cold milk to below the maximum mark, fit the lid and push the carafe firmly onto the machine connector until it locks. If your machine has a milk clean function, run it after each use so milk does not dry inside the tubes, and keep the carafe in the fridge between drinks.
