Fisher & Paykel oven losing heat around the door
This seal runs around the oven opening and closes the gap between the cavity and the door. Over time the constant heating and cooling make it brittle, and it can flatten, tear or shrink back from the corners. Heat then escapes, so the oven takes longer to reach temperature, cooks unevenly and the knobs and fascia above the door run hot. Grease and steam marks on the outside of the door, or a seal that's fallen off its fixings, are other signs it needs replacing.

Fitting a new oven seal
Turn the oven off at the isolator and wait until it's completely cold. Remove the old seal, noting how the ends meet and how it's held at each point. Clean the channel or holes it fits into, then fit the new seal starting where the old ends met, without stretching it around the corners. Run the oven at a moderate temperature and feel for heat escaping around the door.
