It is 1775mm long and is also linked to part number 447551. When the old seal has gone hard, flattened or torn, 540640 restores a proper heat seal around the door.
Heat escaping from your Fisher & Paykel oven door?
The oven door seal runs around the front of the cavity and closes the gap between the door and the oven. A good seal keeps the heat inside, so the oven reaches temperature quickly and cooks evenly. With age and high heat the seal can fray, crumble, lose its spring or pull loose at the corners. Signs include smoke or steam escaping from the top of the door, hot knobs or a hot fascia, uneven browning and longer cooking times. A seal hanging loose can also get caught in the door as it closes.

Fitting the oven door seal
Switch the oven off at the wall and make sure it is completely cold. Oven seals are often held by clips pushed into holes around the cavity front, so open the door fully and ease the old clips out with a flat blade. Start the new seal at the top centre or where the old join was, push each clip firmly home and work around without stretching it. Close the door and check it seals evenly.
