Product details
If the dual wok burner on a Fisher & Paykel gas cooktop lights but goes out as soon as you let go of the knob, the thermocouple is a common culprit. Part 533886 is the genuine thermocouple for the dual wok, listed for CG and CGI models in both natural gas and LPG versions. That covers the CG301, CG451, CG603, CG752, CG903 and CG905 ranges as well as the CGI603 and CGI905.
Wok burner won't stay lit? How the thermocouple works
A thermocouple is the flame failure safety device beside the burner. Its tip sits in the flame and produces a tiny voltage when hot, which holds the gas valve open. If the flame blows out, the tip cools, the voltage drops and the valve shuts off the gas. As thermocouples age, the tip corrodes or the connection at the valve weakens, so the voltage falls short. The burner then needs the knob held in for a long time, or it drops out after a few seconds. A tip bent out of the flame or caked in spills causes the same fault, so clean it and check its position first.

Who should fit it
In Australia, work on gas appliances must be carried out by a licensed gas fitter. They will turn off the gas and the power to the ignition, swap the thermocouple at the burner and the gas valve, then leak test the connections and confirm the safety device cuts the gas when the flame is put out. Note your model number before booking so the correct part is ready.
