Product details
Part 533315 is a genuine Fisher & Paykel ignition switch harness for gas cooking appliances. On a spark ignition cooktop, pressing and turning a knob closes a switch that tells the ignition module to spark, and this harness carries those switches and their wiring. Check your cooktop's model number and product code, or the number on the existing harness, before ordering, since layouts differ between models.
Gas cooktop clicking nonstop or not sparking? Check the ignition switches
Each burner valve on a spark ignition cooktop has a small switch behind the knob. When a switch sticks closed, often after a boil-over or cleaning liquid gets behind the knobs, the igniters keep clicking even with the knobs off. When a switch or its wiring fails open, pressing the knob gives no spark at all. Damaged insulation can also cause sparking in the wrong place or trip the safety switch. If several burners misbehave at once, the switch harness is a likely suspect, though the ignition module and electrodes should be checked as well.

- Installation is a job for a licensed gas fitter
Fitting by a licensed gas fitter
This part sits around the gas valves, so in Australia it's a job for a licensed gas fitter. Isolate the power at the wall and turn off the gas supply first. Take photos of how the harness is routed and clipped to each valve, keep the wiring clear of burner heat, and refit all knobs and seals. Test every burner's ignition and check for leaks before the cooktop goes back into use.
Questions about this part
Why does my cooktop keep clicking after cleaning?
Water or cleaner has probably got into an ignition switch behind a knob. Turn the power off and let it dry out completely, which can take a while. If the clicking continues once it's dry, a switch or the harness may need replacing.
