Water leaking under a double DishDrawer
Both drawers pump their waste water through their own hose, and this Y connector merges them into a single line to the household drain. If the connector cracks or a hose end lets go, dirty water escapes every time either drawer drains. Look for water on the floor of the cabinet next to the dishwasher, a damp kick panel or a smell of stale water. A blocked connector can also stop one or both drawers from draining properly, leaving water sitting in the bottom of the tub.

Fitting the Y connector
Switch the dishwasher off at the wall and have a towel ready, as the hoses will hold some water. Note which hose goes to which leg of the connector, then release any clamps and pull the old connector out. Push the hoses fully onto the new connector, refit the clamps and run each drawer through a rinse to check for leaks at every joint.
