DishDrawer leaving food and grit on dishes
The filter plate sits in the base of each drawer's tub and screens the wash water before the pump sends it back through the spray arm. It stops food scraps from circulating and catches the grit that would otherwise end up on clean dishes. A plate that's cracked, warped or not sitting flat lets debris slip past, so you'll see gritty residue on glasses, food specks on plates and a smelly tub. A blocked or damaged plate can also leave dirty water sitting in the bottom of the drawer after a wash.

Changing the DishDrawer filter plate
Turn the dishwasher off at the wall and open the drawer. Lift out the basket. Depending on the model, the spray arm and filter may need to come out before you can reach the plate in the base of the tub. Note how the old plate locates before lifting it out. Clean any build-up from the sump area while it's open, fit the new plate so it sits flat, refit the other parts and run a rinse to check everything drains.
